Fire Referendum Quick Facts
Just The Facts
- Winfield Fire District has seen 170% increase in call volume since 1991
- Voters have not passed a referendum in over 30 years, but costs AND workload have increased significantly.
- Railroad traffic has increased, causing more frequent crossing blocks.
- Vehicles break down frequently
What Is the True Cost?
We are often asked how property taxes will be affected by passing the referendum...the truth? It could cost you more to be reassigned to a neighboring fire protection district than it would be to vote YES for this referendum.
